I have found out that the usual adventure type square panniers will fit onto an 1150R with the same frame that fits the 1150GS bikes. Whoop. All that is required is that the original BMW pannier rails need to be removed.
However, my existing top box mounting rack, DOES require the original pannier rails to be in situ. So I now either need to abandon the adventure pannier idea or suffer the loss of the top box to mount the pannier hoops. catch 22. I use the bike more for commuting and shopping etc so the option for a top box is kind of a must. Anyone know of a rack that will allow for the mounting of a top box without the original pannier/passenger grab rails NOT in place on an 1150r.? Oh, and not a massive outlay either!
