I fitted EBC organic pads to the rear brake on my 690 enduro r last week.
150 miles later they are down to the backing plates. This mileage was 80% road and 20%off-road.
Brake is not binding, plenty of free play on the pedal. I am easy on the brakes and hardly use them.
Supplier has had no issues with these pads but is sending a set of HH sintered to try.
Any ideas what might be the cause? Cheers

How long did the stock (Brembo?) ones last?

Hooky non genuine EBC pads, from China? Where did you buy them from?

Faulty pads?
I've got the 701 and brake pads as you'll know will last, (should last) for thousands of miles.

One thing wrong with that.
You fitted organic pads.
Don't.
HH Sintered are the only recommended pads from EBC to use.
Nothing "faulty" just totally unsuitable for the intended application .

Aaah right , should have rtfm first :) Will see how the replacements go.
I went for the cheapest I could find but from a decent brand.

Noted, thanks JB.
I always think of Galfer as a cheapo brand , don’t know why though
They seem to perform better than Brembo on the Tenere 700, in terms of feel and longevity
Galfer seem to be the pads of choice in Trials and Enduro competition bikes
Always found EBC too harsh/lacking feel on my trail bikes and generally can't get on with them
The GSA's have Brembo pads in mine

Had Galfer on the 500EXC-F.
Utter shite. Fronts were trashed to the metal in a fraction of the time of EBC HH.
FIR are almost as bad.
Brembo or EBC HH are the best regardless of the bike.

Was it wet and muddy?
I’ve got through a set of rear pads in a weekend ,1/2 in Derbyshire the other 1/2 on Salisbury plans
Both days wet and very muddy.
Either way,I generally don’t like ebc pads and stick with oem brembo

I have use sintered EBC pads in my dirt bikes with no ill effects. A lot cheaper than OEM.

Very wet and muddy although the previous lads didn’t seem to suffer to the same extent.
The replacements have arrived today so I’ll get them fitted tomorrow, assuming the disc isn't also knackered

Previous pads, that should say , not lads.
Top marks to the seller simmiperformance who responded very quickly and sent an upgraded replacement. Assuming they are genuine pads I’m happy to put it down to experience.
I hope they’re genuine anyway cos I bought a front set to be dispatched with the replacements :)
