Modifications and Compare the Market

Anybody had any issues with modifications entered on a comparison site not transferring onto the policy?

I entered my bike details, complete with modifications , into Compare the Market and took out the policy. Upon checking the app, the policy hadn’t uploaded so I requested a paper copy .
The paper copy didn’t show the modifications so I contacted the provider who demanded another £230, on top of the £275 already paid.

The comparison sites usually just give base quotations and you have to add modifications on the main insurer's site.

The comparison site had a section for modifications and let me add them though therefore it’s reasonable to assume the quote given includes the mods.

I went directly to the same insurer’s website and started a new quote. It worked out to be £8 more than the original one. I’m sure it was just an honest mistake on their part when they demanded an extra £230 from me…
