Hi,

After some technical advice… I have the quad lock wireless charger that is being attached to the crossbar on the handlebars. I want to avoid running wires to the headlights for power and want to wire into the ignition directly so that no power is drawn from the battery. Has anyone got any tips for me to do this so that my wiring stays on the handlebars.

TIA
Nick

I’ve done this on my F800GSA. I didn’t really like the lifty-flap 12v power point, so I pulled that underneath the false tank cover (still wired in to the main loom) and then plugged in the power connector for the quadlock power head. All the wiring is concealed under the bodywork and just pops out next to the quadlock.

I blanked the old hole with a grommet.

It would be easier to buy a thunderbox and connect it under the seat.
as soon as you turn the ignition off the thunderbox will cut the power to the charger.

This will save you messing with the bikes cables

edit:
To late Wapping beat me to the link lol

Thanks Guys,

Purchased the thunderbox and it’s arriving tomorrow by 1pm. Have to have a tidy bike especially with the wiring, must be my OCD!
