Tool box

When fitting one of those after market tool boxes that sit inside the pannier frame, do you remove the rear spray catcher thingy or will it clear the fitted box?
Mine is a 2008 GSA so the box is on the right. Instructions say to remove but it looks like it will clear (just).

I’ve got an 08 GSA too. It shouldn’t be a problem if you don’t use all your suspension travel. I removed mine as I heard the guard contact the tyre (pushed into it by the tool box) when two-up and going over a level change in the road, I do off-road too. Not regretted it (yet) and bike is not noticeably more filthy.

I have a late 07 GSA with the stock Crud Catcher thing in place, along with a Carbon Hugger and a Tool Box.
They all seem to get along well together, even when 2-Up.

Thanks all. It looks to me like it will clear. I will listen out for nasty tyre rubbing noises and remove it if I hear anything.
