Off Road Rally's
The Reivers is one of the few off road motorcycle "rally's" held in the UK; some of the others are the Cambrian (which was the first - and which I help organise), the Dyfi, the Hafren, the Winter and the Rydale.
Each is different and caters for big off road bikes to a more or lesser degree. I wrote the description of the event that was quoted for the Cambrian.
I usually set the Cambrian course on my 1150GS (until I wrote it off last year – on the road with the help of a woman driver!) to make sure it's possible by big bikes, and we always have quite a few entered. Indeed I have a special class, and award, specifically for twin cylinder bikes over 1100cc.
If you do a search you should find some photo’s of Henry Mawson on his GS at the Cambrian.
Entries for the Cambrian are like Gold, and will be even more precious next year as we will probably have to reduce the numbers from 350 to about 200.
We haven’t got the date for the 2004 event confirmed yet but will either be 11th April (Easter Sunday) or in early October – I will be reserving a few places for GS riders and will post a message when the regulations are available.
On here's a pic of one UKGS'ers bike at the end! (not Henry)
