Official - BMW's 450

BMW issued a press release, finally owning up to the 450. It's still a prototype, but they're racing it this year in the E2 Class World Championship series, with none other than Joel Smets and Sasha Eckert as riders.

What's the news with the Husqvarna link-up. I've variously heard that BMW has acquired Husqvarna's holding company, alternatively that it is to acquire a manufacturing facility from Husqvarna in Italy. Both rumours are of joint development of BMW's off-road line.

Husqvarna's holding company is a bit too much for BMW to chew, since it's got Agusta etc in the company. Husqvarna itself could be done, since BMW is buying the Rotax engines for the 650s, and this could go in their overall strategy. Maybe this 450 is really a Husky ??
