It's about time I did this route again.

and some byways and bits of the Ridgeway of course ;)

Combining these in a circular route starting and ending at Hungerford, takes around 5 hours (plus viewing stops/breaks) and covers approx 170 miles.

Anyone else interested in tagging along ?

I can't decide on a date so have made it a poll - you can select multiple options.

Details of the last one Here
and Here

Last time the Pub lunch stop took a bit too long and meant that several people didn't have time to do the whole route and missed out on Shep buying the ice-creams at Uffington, so this time I'm going to suggest taking a packed lunch :nenau

A picnic sounds good:thumb

Sundays are best for me but as to which one, who knows, i'll go with the flow, if I can make it I will:thumb

Ideally the route needs dry/fair weather so I may end up deciding on a date based on short notice depending on the forecast

Will hopefully have plenty of time to order the special Touratech tool for cutting the crusts from the cucumber sandwiches :)

Oops, was the first who voted - and the graphs went up massively... :D

Thanks, Clive, great initiative! :thumb2

Had a fantastic time last year and look forward to riding the tour again (just have to make sure to stay away from Steptoe this time... :augie).

Looks great and would love to do it.

My question would be .. how tricky is it to ride the route? Don't want to become a liability :D

Fairly easy, especially if dry. I planned the route such that the byways are "shortcuts" i.e. there will be a road route around as required. :thumb

I am up for it then. Let us know the date.

Would also like to tag along on this one if date is suitable.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't noticed any signs but haven't looked too hard recently ;)

That's because they're in my bin :thumb

How the hell WCC can TRO a byway that has been in exactly the same state for the past three years and only now they claim that it is "dangerous to the public" is beyond me :spitfire

It didn't appear to be too dangerous to the five horse riders I saw galloping along these very same byways not two weeks ago :mcgun

I would like to come on this, if it's ok.
Haven't been out for a while

I need to sort out a date a bit earlier than planned to fit in with other things.

So I've gone for Sunday 20th May as this is currently most popular, although there is a chance I'll be able to do it again on 3rd June (but that will probably be short notice).

I can't close the poll so I've closed the thread and opern up a new one
