Hi Andy

If you have the garmin mount its called a "torx bit" in sizes (T8, T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30 and T40) you can buy them from maplin, motorworld etc i cant remember what size you need but they are cheap

hope this helps

see link found with google search

Its known as a 'Safety Tool' and the BMW part number is C71.60.7.678.174 and costs £10.90 + VAT. (Although on my invoice is was listed as a 'bolt' - )

I saw in Halfords today they sell security Torx sets - however, I didn't look closely enough to see if they go down small enough - the BMW tool is pretty small. But you might be able to find a specialist tool shop that does sell the really small ones - ask for a Torx bit with a security pin.

Just Googled Torx security pin and got this at Maplins

Looks like a pretty small bit there.

Just a thought if the screw isn’t too tight you may be able to loosen with a small flat bladed screwdriver? Across the diameter

Thanks for the speedy replies guys! Have tried the flat head method but the little nipple in the screw is in the way, i will take a trip out to halfords at sparrows fart in the morning, isn't it always the way when you have things planned!!

Got one now!!!!:thumb , had to buy a pack of security bits which fit onto a scredriver head. I think i'll find someone with a precision drill and have a hole drilled through it and stick it on my keyring!
