Morocco-proofing a TTR600

We've got a customer coming out to Morocco in the autumn for some off-roading on his TTR600 which is in standard form....

Anyone got one might be able to give us some tips/specifics on making it a bit more Morocco-proof please??

I've mentioned a bash plate and hand guards already, but sources/prices and stuff from experiences of owners is invaluable.

Got your call Bill.

New plus spare front and rear wheel bearings and cush drive.

Front sprockets get chewed, so fit new chain and sprockets (the best,) carry a spare front perhaps different size.

He'll need an Acerbis fuel tank they have a very small one as standard

TTR 600 exhaust shakes apart... use Arrow.
The bolts on oil filter cover are too short they should be something like 180mm but check.

He specialises in preparing XT, XR Transalps, Africa Twins etc. for overlanding.
I used to have a TTR 600 years ago and was going to prepare it for a trip to Iceland and his advice is second to none.

He did mention a bigger tank, but the 'zorst shaking apart?? eek......unexpected



EDIT....though a knacked 'zorst isn't a trip-ender...that's what's of more concern obviously

A friend had one that was a total dog and knackered in every respect. I think he fitted a tinere front end then he took it around Europe. Head gasket went but that was all.

Tell him to have a gander on the HU site, they have bike info type section full of overland mods and tips... might be worth a looksee.
