What am I doing wrong?

I bought a 4Gb SD card for my Zumo 550 to allow me to add more music.

I have started to load tunes onto it, but when its half full, I keep getting a message saying the device is not ready.

I have formatted the card and the tracks on it play fine through the 550, so someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Maybe the device doesnt support 4GB SD cards. Check the manual to be sure. the 4GB Cards are in SDHC format... (http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-sdhc-cards.htm)

Also, if it's formatted with a FAT filesystem then they only support 2Gb. Might need to format with FAT32.

I found that after loading around 620 tunes into a single directory the initial map draw was very slow. Splitting them into individual directories of 20 tunes has made things work much faster.

I'd recommend formatting the card FAT32 and then checking your PC recognises it as a 4GB removable drive.
