Hi all
I am catching the ferry on Friday 13th:eek: which has a check in time of 12:15pm for a 13:00 departure. I have to travel up from Worcester and although I could do it in the morning it doesn't leave as much of a margin as I would like so I am thinking about coming up Thursday evening and staying over.

I am looking for any suggestions for a bike friendly cheap'n'cheerful place to stop Thursday night up to an hour or two away (south) from the ferry port.

Any help most welcome!

Whitley Bay

www.theavalon.co.uk It's very handy for the ferry, full of character and characters.....not actually stayed here, but it has become a regular drinking destination...

:D

PS: Sorry this is north of the ferry terminal. but only about 3 miles, which will save you doing the tunnel, Western by-pass or Tyne Bridge when you're keen to get on the boat.

PPS: Actually 5.3 miles .....sorry!

Glad to be of assistance - I hear they do a good breakfast.

If you're fond of real ale they generally have a couple of "Mordue" ales on.
They have all the usuall stuff too and a handsome collection of whisky/whiskey as well.
