With Lind closing their bike dealership in November, my next nearest dealer is Balderstones in Peterborough. Has anyone any experience of them, good or bad?

I'll second that...

Friendly dealership with quality service at reasonable prices - free loan bikes too.

I can't compare with Lind but having read some of the pricing horror stories of other dealers I'm glad that Balderstons are my local dealer.

I bought my 1100 from them. Nice and friendly but took the piss when I blew both head gaskets in the first week. They had the bike for a week and told me they had replaced both gaskets with the latest spec 1100 head gasket. In reality they just tightened both heads down untill they stopped leaking.

In all fairness the gasket lasted for three years before blowing. I was just annoyed that they lied to me. They are probably one of the better BMW dealers.

Just had a new 1150 from them and was impressed with the service they gave. They don't give any thing away for free, but they are very friendly bunch that care. Had my first service and they lent me a 650GS for the day foc. Bike was ready, cleaned, as promised by the end of the day.

Balderstons also do ride outs periodically and invite you (if they like you!) with an advanced posting telling you whats going on.

I called in last November whilst travelling down from Scotland unfortunately someone had planted a Ford Escort through there showroom window and they were not very interested in doing any kind of business. I have since visited but every time I have encountered ongoing repairs to the premises which always seemed to get in the way.

However I remember in my youth in the 60s & 70s when Harry Balderston ran the show and they had an excellent reputation for sales & service.

The shop had to be completely rebuilt due to the inconsiderate person who decided to park the vehicle in the front of the showroom. Repairs are complete and they now have a very smart frontage, you should not experience any further problems due to building work.

winter servicing

a little bird told me that they are thinking of offering winter servicing with a collection/delivery option to people in norwich area now that linds are closing
