Hi, past my test, got my GS...where we going?

Hi, just a little hello from me and my partner Dawn who is totally responsible for inspiring me to take my test after showing me a DVD of "The Long Way Round".

Already a keen biker herself, she has helped me to see the light and turned a relatively sane 43 year old into an overly excited kid, especially now that I've taken delivery of my first bike, which had to be the R1200GS....naturally!!!

Sadly, after making so many plans to start touring Europe, we discovered Dawn has cancer, which has put things on hold temporarily until she has regained her strength for distance touring. However, having just finished her course of chemo therapy we are keen to start venturing out, although initially we are limited to rides in the UK only, until such time that Dawn feels up to tackling European travel.

We hope to join other members for days or weekends out and to start socialising by attending various meets, particularly fundraising events, wherever possible.

Hopefully...in time....I can progress from being a "Tosser" to whatever the next status level might be, which hopefully won't be "Total Tosser", as Dawn would argue that I've already reached that level now!!!

Dawns parents are members of the "Blue Knights" and have a place in France where many members meet and stay whilst on tour. So if anyone is planning a trip abroad and would like more information, please let us know.

In the meantime, we look forward to hearing from any members in our area who may like to recommend a trip out some time.

Take care and Ride with Pride

Hey Paul and Dawn,
Talk about "There's good news -new Bike, and bad news - Big C"
Hope to hear soon that you are off and see the photos. Just do it!
Keep an eye on this board for all kinds of outings, and you might join the BMW Club - they have a cool monthly journal and they organise gatherings too.
Best wishes,
Bin (Riyadh)
