This is five minuets up the road from me. It is RAF Stow Maries. A first world war airfield, It was used once during WW2 when a damaged Spitfire had to land. Hardly any people know it's there. Billets, Bunkers, Gaurdhouse, Ammo bunker, Officers Mess, Bar, everything !
Agree, here's a link to St. Angelo airfield near Enniskillen. A guy from the Environment & Heritage Service was visiting St Angelo, making a survey for Defence Heritage as part of the process to preserve these now rare wartime buildings. Two days after his visit, most of 'em were knocked down
