Just a Q before I part with £35 for a TT power cable, does anyone know if I can convert the car mount cable by removing the speaker and cigar lighter plug in and replacing with a BMW plug?
If so anything I should be aware of? like keeping any of the original fitting etc.
Any advice would be of help.:nenau

The Speaker housing contains a 5 volt power regulator. Snip the cable and connect it to a 12 volt supply.....say goodbye to what was a working Quest. :blast

I used a disected car kit (with the cables wired straight onto the battery) on my 1100 for about 2 years without any problems, I even used the car cradle and the unit never fell out (even with light off-roading!)

I don't really see the point in anything else :)

Hope this helps

Thanks for the link, looks doable, What about the resistor?
I have bought a TT mount which has a clip for the power cable to be attached, but I need a special small 'star' screwdriver to remove the retaining screw:( then it should fit.
