I've updated my "Riding in France" article on my news blog site to include two detailed maps of where you will find the radars in france:

Riding in France

Don't get caught !!!

Thanks Mike.

Are the new rules actually in force now?

Cheers

Dick

If I`m riding in France I usually ride exclusively D roads. Am I right in thinking that this campaign is aimed at N roads and autoroutes and that they ignore the Ds?

The map is indeed for the autoroutes and major N roads, but you're out of luck, since the mobile radars go to the D roads.... And I just learned that the new radars will now make a pretty photo of the bike's derriere (ie they'll make photos from the front for cars and from the back for bikes;... I'm royally screwed now... bring the vaseline).

Just seen on the news, that speed cameras and gonna breed faster than
rabbits over here.

Typical flash settings are 96kph for a 90kph zone and 138kph for a
130kph zone. :-/

I'm a tad pissed off, but tbh, it was a long time coming.

http://news.tf1.fr/news/france/0,,1423984,00.html for the news
article. Yes, it's in French, in case someone wishes to point it out
and surprisingly enough, the following url is a guvermint site which
has a url to all the radars in France.

yeah, I posted the government URL in my article. They see it at least as sporting... they're giving us a chance..... If your ead the article, you'll also see the penalties, but in all fairness, mortality rate has gone down 60% this year since they cracked down on speeding.

Hi Mike, it's just as well they're getting tough on speeding, the way people drive down this part of France is utterly insane. On the photo front, I've got a very small number plate on the rear of the bike, and they dont seem to mind it at all. I've been followed by the police (once) and they never mentioned it. The fact that bikes don't need MOTs in France also means it won't get picked up too quickly...Hopefully it'll be a safer place to ride, we'll see...
