Why not hire a van to put it in?
You're going to have to pay to get up there and then for the fuel on the way back. Just make sure you've got plenty of ratchet straps and a ramp or something else to get the bike in. You could do it in a long day if you've got someone to go with you.

I bought Jeremys HP2 and road it back from London to Aberdeen in one hitch.. no problem

Quite looking forward to the ride home but your right it could be hard work.
Managed to get a great deal on a flight to Edinburgh which convinced me - £5.99 plus charges, a total of £25 and gets into Edinburgh at 8:15am so allowing an hour or so to get the bike sorted I have a good chance of getting home in daylight. Just need to make sure I wrap up well, think I need a new pair of winter gloves
