I have just purchased a Philips DVDR [DVD rewriter].
I already have a CD rom & a separate DVD player CD re-writer.
My question is do I replace the DVD player CD re-writer with the new DVDR. Or sould I add it to the system as I have a spare position in the front of my PC, Will it conflint with the other re-writer ? or do I swap it with the CD Rom ?
This my sound a simple question but I have read all the instructions that came with the new DVDR & it dos'nt say.
It also talks about one being a slave & one a master which should be which?
Any advice would be very helpfull
Thanks

PS it comes with Nero 5 burning software

if you have only one hard drive, you could add new dvd writer to the IDE channel that said HD is on (IDE 0).

personally i would get rid of one of the optical drives you mention, the cd-rom probably, & have the dvd-cdr & dvd-r drives on IDE 1 (there are usually only 2 IDE channels).

set one drive as master & other as slave. it doesn't matter which.
