Quest to Din - do I need the fuse?

Hi

I've just bought a Garmin Quest along with the Garmin Cradle which came with the bare wire fused power lead.

So question is, do I need the fuse if I'm going to wire directly to a hella plug to plug in to the DIN socket on the beak of an R1150GSA (2005).

In other words, is the socket on the bike fused already?

The power socket will be fused but I would think it would be a higher rating than the in line fuse on the Quest cradle.

Thanks for that, do you think it would be OK to put a lower rated fuse in the bike for the socket - I won't be using that socket for anything other than the gps - or is that not the done thing?
