Morning all,
I am heading to Provence on the bike next weekend & was thinking of going through Allos & Colmars on the D908. Does anybody know what the roads are likely to be like ?. I dont want to riding parts with both feet on the ground, if that's the case I will stick to the Route Napoleon.

All views & info gratefully received.

Cheers

Barcelonnette is above a thousand meters and has ski lifts etc.

I have been turned back, in a car, in May (ok it was a freak) for having no snow chains.

It is only early April, so it is always going to be a toss-up on the roads / weather in the region.

Call / contact the town's tourist office - they will tell you.

My parents live in Provence, near Apt. They had two inches of snow a week or so ago (it's not unusual) but so did much of central France.
