I know I might be a bit biased living over here but it is well documented that the Channel Islands have some of the most impressive German fortifications in Europe . Here is a link to a Guernsey site that might be of interest .

Looks good.... bonkers for bunkers. keep meaning to stop off on the way to europe for a look. I might make it in July or October.

My brother in law works at the Fort in St Peter Port and my sister in law is a doctor on Guernsey. Lovely part of the world

That reminds me. About 16 years ago I happened upon a Guernsey cream jug in plated silver. It was inscribed as being presented to the Commandant in charge Xmas 1944 by men of his regiment. An interesting piece I wish I still had.
