Lovely bike !!!

Much much nicer than the SM,SMR which has that stupid beak.

Eleccy start or kick ?

HP2 Sport ain't quite finished though !!

Oh it s quite modern has an leccy boot, and 63hp, weighs 139k, and is probably to young for me, but it keeps me spirit up without the vodka.

I seem to recall a mate had a 660SMC in 06 and it was kick only.

I think your bike is the nicest of the 690s.I'm not overly struck on the new DukeIII either as the headlights look odd.

Good choice.

Just needs an Akra now :

Looks Good Fella. Health to enjoy,as you say over there !!:thumb

BTW,I've still got the 166 BHP 1224 ZRX and the 640 LC4 SM.

And i've traded the GS1200 for a Megamoto .Get it next Friday.

Regards,Dave.

Very nice bike. My brother had the orginal 690 motard with the big pipes but that looks so much better.

Will I look out for you passing me on the back (or front) wheel in the Portrush/Portstewart area in a couple of weeks? NW200 here we come :)

Nice bike Simp

The new ones look a lot tidier. My 625SMC is in for some TLC at the moment before its back on the road for 6 mths fun. When I bought it I was worried how reliable it would be and thankfully its been 100%.

Have fun!

God man tartan yes i will be there, either on that bike or me 640 adv, depends how sore me gonads will be on the day, cause the seat on the smc isnt wot u might say comfty, so gimme the thumbs up if you see me, as there isnt hardly any 690 smc,s over here yet.:beerjug:

I keep getting tempted to get an SM again and I have to say, with the new KTM motor Orange does seem very attractive at the moment.
Very nice bike big simp :thumb2

Apart from styling, what are the major differences between yours and the 'beaky' SM?

Andres

Andres its a totally different chassis, with the rear subframe being the petrol tank, and a different swinging arm, different yokes and its about 130 kgs and it aint heavy, compared to the beak 690,s, the brakes are the best and the 6 speed box is sweet apart from 5 to 6th gear which is long.
but it looks so much better than the others but to be fiar its really focused, and a perfect back road bike, which can carry a lot of corner speed well.

Nice bike big simp:thumb2..............can I ask though, how did you lose your left leg?:(

you had me wondering then rushy took me a while to catch on, bit slow today thanks for the comments.
Steve

nice lookin bike but don't u find it a bit breathless on a decent straight?

Always fancied a S/Moto but reckon I'd get bored with it after a week or two :(

There was a beautiful Duke III in white on Poole Quay last night. Made a cracking noise too.

Steve,

ok I want to see big mono's past the Anchor bar in Portstewart. Doesn't matter what day or time as I will be there. :beerjug: I'll be the one wearing the Yurakokk t-shirt and massive sideburns :thumb

These bikes arent breathless at all, granted its not a busa, but those type of bikes days are numbered i reckon, with all the cameras and police out to jail ur ass.
That 690 smc does 120mph has six gears wp suspension, supercorsas, brembo monoblock caliper, and weighs just over 130kgs and believe me it wicked, no other bike will get a chance to come near you on the back road twisties, ask phillip macallum.
The lightness is the key for me to be honest, and i covered 221 miles on it last monday.
Ok me hoop was a tad sore but it was mighty fun trev.
now if my akrapovic would arrive i could get rid of the hoover noise all these new strangled bikes make and start scaring grannies again.
