Hope some of you IT specialists can help me please, I'm a computer dummy ;) , but as I'm going to be off of work for another month or so I fancied putting a small website together.
Preferably I won't have to spend any money, just upload a few pic's and write a few words :D .
Anybody reccomend a web host please? Remembering I'm PC illiterate ;) .
Cheers John :beerjug:

Hi John,

I'd highly recommend http://www.easily.co.uk I run several websites and all through them. You can register a domain and setup virtual hosting and any number of different 'packages'. I don't know if they're the cheapest and I'm sure someone will tell you that they're not, but they do what they say on the tin and are good people. You can setup everything online, including domain name registration and they support Frontpage if you don't know html. Hope this helps.

John...check the home page of your own , current ISP........nearly all of them offer some sort of free space with your account, usually about 20 meg od space which you should find sufficient for a good basic site.

They'll also usually provide the tools you need to build it and they are pretty idiot proof.

Hi John,

Simiar answer to Darren but I use http://www.oneandone.co.uk. I also run several websites and again you can have any number of different 'packages'. I also don't know if they're the cheapest but they are good.

They also have a simple web page creation tool available on some of the packages, not tried it myself but have seen good reports.

oneandone

I used them for a site for my ex-wife's business (just so she had one for the business card!) It was very easy to create using their tools and costs a couple of quid a year for the domain name and site.

PS If anyone needs a knowledge manager see www.sj3.co.uk the more she earns the less I have to worry about maintenance!

Thanks Paul, :D ,
Will try and have a play around later sometime. I'm not that happy with it, but then again I don't know what I'm doing  .
Cheers :beerjug: and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
John
