just rebuilt a fork of my 2001 DRZ, (early model forks) and when you pump it I get a clonking sound on the rebound every time ???
it happens as soon as you let go of the fork if you see what I mean

I have stripped it down again and rebuilt it, but still the same.

any ideas :nenau

I don't think many folk on here have got as far as stripping forks down.....
Its not something daft like the speedo cable or brake hose hitting something??
Otherwise I tend to just ride it and see what happens in these situations.

Is there oil in it? Could just be the pistons sliding back and forth - would be silent when filled with oil??

yes its got oil in it :augie :blast
I'm gonna fit it to the bike and see what happens, I think it might just be the rebound spring taking up its travel
