A616 Variable speed cams

Hi Folks,

I'll be working in Stockport for the next few weeks....so what you ask?...Well it means I've got a lovely commute across the pennines (100 mile round trip) each day on some great roads and scenery...also means negotiating some variable speed cams on a 50mph limit for several miles on the A616 near to Stocksbridge. These appear to be forward facing so hopefully a bike 'making progress' safely should be ok.

Does anyone on here have any info on these cams or been pulled by any unmarked cars etc?

You could always avoid stocksbridge by-pass (A616) cos:

a) It's crap, and
b) It's officially one of the most dangerous roads in the UK for deaths........
c) See b).
d) See b) again........

Obviously it depends where you're coming from, but lots of good choice. Only need to be on it a little way from Flouch roundabout to get to a road that'll lead you to biking nirvana. I'll help if ya stuck.
