Weather is supposed to be good on Sunday (8th June) in this area

Anyone fancy meeting up and going for a ride?

Suggest meeting at Texaco/Somerfield petrol station on the A4 at Hungerford at 10:30pm. We'll then take a gentle bimble through the local roads and lanes - this will be all ON ROAD so you don't need TKC80s, and if your non-GS riding buddies want to come along - they're welcome.

Meeting place postcode is RG17 0EP, so stick that into Google maps to find it.

Please be ready to depart at 10:30 - full tanks and empty bladders.

Bring a packed lunch and we'll stop somewhere nice for lunch - perhaps Wilton Windmill, or somewhere by the Kennet & Avon canal (hello Shep!) or wherever we happen to be that looks nice.

Anyone from Southeast, Southwest, or indeed any other region most welcome to join.

If anyone wants to talk to me beforehand, please ring me on 07900 688116.

Cheers - Philip - 6X/7X

For your proposed ride on the 8th June I could suggest a better title than the one you've chose for this thread :augie

And maybe an earlier start :nenau

want to give people the chance to get there.

I think you'll find that by 10.30pm they'll have all gone home again.

Dunno, hadn't really thought that far ahead........

I guess we'll be gone until, say, 3 or 4 o clock, when we'll arrive back at the start point, though people can leave whenever they like if they have to get back.

How far are we likely to go? maybe 100 to 150 miles, but probably no more than about 40 or 50 miles from our start point - we'll be meandering around some of the lanes.

Already committed to a run down to Popham Airfield (Google map (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Popham+Airfield+%4051.194083,-1.236541&ie=UTF8&ll=51.198279,-1.266174&spn=1.268429,2.39502&z=9)) .......be there about 11:30 and stay a couple of hours.
Maybe you guys could stop by, there's a nice little cafe, very biker friendly and often some interesting aircraft (and bikes) to take a look at.

The one bloody Sunday I may be able to get away from the laptop - and I'm in Liverpool. Great.

Hey ho - have a grand time. If you'd been passing Bampton and I'd been in, you'd have been welcome for a coffee or three.

Cracking day, got the seat sorted on the bike, twas a lot better on the way home. Got the water carrier working as well. Enjoyed the ride, never been to most of those places. Apologies to everybody for seeming to be such a know all been there. but after those years in the Boer war then my time in Vietnam, the memory is not what it was.

What a thoroughly enjoyable time, riding around England's green and pleasant countryside on an outstanding summers day, and in the company of a cracking group of people.

Thanks to Phil for architecting said event!

As for Cindy, she'd probably be quite pleased to be labelled a "Tosser"! ;)

Cheers,

Darren

If I had known you were all at a loss for things to do, you could have joined me in the dry dock in Newbury and given me a hand:blast

Looks you had a great day for a rideout and I hope to make the next one.

Dry dock? There is a Dry Dock? Where is that then? I don't remember seeing that. Is is down by the footie club?
