Hi All

Can anyone enlighten me what the stowage is like on the 800GS?

Is there anywhere for a disc lock or waterproofs?

Pretty poor. The underside of the seat has a recess moulded specifically for the tool 'kit' plus another very small space that is intended for a first aid kit.

If you have ABS there's cigarette-packet-sized space towards the rear. Non-ABS bikes have a bigger space.

Under what on most bikes would be the 'tank' panel there's a slot that could take some extra stuff but you need to remove six screws to get at it, so maybe it's best for additional tools or stuff you don't need to access quickly.

Unlike the 1200GS there's no in-built storage for the Abus lock.

Thanks Tim:thumb2, suspected as much, so disc lock'll probably squeeze in but not the waterproofs.

I should be picking up my shiny new GS in September, but probably won't fit any luggage options for a while, so I'd be really interested to know what methods 800GS owners are using?

Are the small tail-pack options any good and if so are they secure or could they be easily nicked?

the bmw small soft pack is bolted on by three bolts
and a zip with little holes which you can put a padlock
thats it

oh it £35:00 quid you can see it here its the one right at the back
the other one is my tail pack which I have waterproofs etc in
