On a recent trip to Slovenia i spotted this memorial on a remote mountain road north of Zelezniki. The memorial stone reads (roughly)
" in memory of the battle of slovenian people for liberty and freedom, for the dead and alive soldiers of the cankarjevih(partizani) who fought on the 9th,10th and 11th of january 1942 in this town (Drazgose),against the nazis, in here are the remains of 8 soldiers and 40 innocent victims of Drazgose-the town of the nazi terror. Drazgose 1970"
Does anybody know anything else about the battle?
