I think that I'll chuck a new spring on the rear of my new 'Berg that more suitable for my weight (I usually carry a very heavy rucksack :augie).

The OE spring is 250mm long - but what's its inside diameter?

Is it for the WP 5018 PDS? If so, I can email you the workshop manual if you haven't already got one and if your email accepts attatchments >5Mb - PM me your email address. It may have the info you're after.

59mm is the ID of the WP spring from my Rallye bike, just thought perhaps all WP springs were the same dia.

Greg, stop ferkin' about and just order the fat bastid size.;)

Feck off you banana-eating wind-bag!

:D

I've had the unit off and measured the collar that the spring sits on - 61mm - so I guess it uses 2½" springs (which are readily available in a range of rates). But I see that the shock has to come apart to get the srping off. It's all getting a bit complex and expensive. I think I might start by winding up the pre-load on the standard spring!
