Hi all and Happy Christmas to all Gs'ers. I though it might be of interest to some to mention this small organisation which is dedicated to the memory of all those who escaped/evaded capture during WW2, and alsoto those locals who assisted them, many of whom lost their lives as a result of their efforts. The Society organises a series of walks, in various European countries, which follow as closely as possible the routes used by escapers/evaders during WW2. Some are pretty gentle, others are definately arduous. Not only that but the secretary has a huge collection of archive material about many who escaped (and many who unfortunately did not survive the attempt), so if anyone has relatives etc who did go on the run he may be able to help you with more info. The organisation has a web site which has some info if you are interested, and gives details of how to contact the secretary etc. If you like the idea of riding to somewhere in Europe, then doing a few days walking with a few other like minded people ( and for those who don't want to/are unable to walk there is often a non-walkers programme) the Society might be of interest.

Best wishes

Mike
