Fuel consumption on Serow

Hello, thinking of buying a new Serow for 50m round trip to work and other things as well, what can i expect to get to the gallon from one of these machines, and are there any companies that specialise in insuring these little beauties.

Many thanks

Serow

The Serow is a Yamaha 250 4t and sold only as an import over here and only being 5'5" is a good safe alterative to the big BMW's

Cheers.

The Serow is also one of the most stolen bikes of all time :(
If you get one 225 or 250 make sure you secure it well.
Don't rely on a lock and chain because ever since De Walt broke the rules and made a cordless angle grinder every Pikey bastard has one :mad::mad::mad:
No chain made can resist an angle grinder with 1mm titanium cutting blade for more than 30 seconds :(

thanks for that but still dont know what they do to the gallon,or where to find out,or is there a good alternative.

Cheers.

Sorry, mates does around 60 mpg @ 50 ish mph but tops out at 70 mph screaming it's nuts off..
reckon it could pull a higher front sprocket :thumb2

50 miles... on a serrow... :tears your arse will be sore!
got to be doing in the high 70s or so. Although it is of course all down to how you ride it.

But i think a 50 mile commute on it everyday will end up killing it.

I am riding a 1989 Serow, do 50+miles a day as a bike instructor, my arse is well padded and not sore :toungincheek. On a full tank mine will do 200kms before reserve. It is a brilliant bike, user friendly, mine starts first time every time (they are prone to bad starting) easy to work on (new valves after 23000km were easy to do) (so Micky tells me!!!!!) Enjoy the experience - but yes, lock it up well, this is my 2nd bike - 1st one nicked out of my locked garage!

Hmmm ...

... and I'm still looking for one :augie
