So what wee bit of history have you got knocking about ???

.

I was looking the other night at my Grandfathers internment and subsequent release orders from the prison ship Argenta. He was on it from 1922 to January 1924. Fascinating stuff.

I have a C.I.E Road Transport Rule Book printed in 1948 given to my Dad when he started driving the buses in Donnybrook A.
For example rule 43; drivers shall provide at their own expense, and carry a watch in good working order while on duty, and shall make every reasonable endeavour to keep it synchronized with standard time.........
There are 206 rules
Lord rest him he tried to break everyone of them :pullface

I'm not to old ta give ya a smack round the back of the legs :rob :D

I have a letter from a Priest sent to my Great Grandmother. It decribes how he had written to a Priest in New York who was looking after my Grandfather who had runaway from home aged 15. Apparently he was requesting that any money earned by my Grandfather was sent home to support the family.

A few other bits and bobs I must look out and have another look at

Nice one Aidan... any chance of a wee peek ???

We (the family) only got them last week Joe and all the copies are A3 size and there must be 40 of them. It cost a cousin nearly £30 to get the copies at the public records office.

When I get the A3's reduced to A4 I will scan and post a few of them here.
