My flying brick is leaking oil :-(

Only a bit mind, but we dont want that. Its a 1990 K100RS 16v.

Took off the belly pan and gave it a de-grease and this is what I found.

Seems to be coming from the hole (is it a breather hole??). In case its difficult to get your head around the photos taken from underneath looking up, its where the gearbox joins the engine.

Waiting for a workshop manual (Clymer :() to arrive in the post which may help me find out where its coming from.

Until then, anybody have any ideas?
 
rear crank seal or gearbox input shaft seal.

What does the oil smell like, gear oil or engine oil.

The gearbox oil is nice & new. The engine oil which is due a change, looks very similar in colour to the leak.
