Hi,
I'm thinking of doing the off road skills course with a local dealer. Just wondering which bike would be best for a novice? I currently ride a 1200gs on the road.

Can't proffess to be an expert here but I have a DZ400E which has improved my GS riding no end, I also get to play on a KLX250 which is fun beyond its size. For an off road jaunt or training I would be happy with a 250 or a 400

It depends on what bike you intend to ride offroad, generally the smaller, the better.........that's why the GS is so crap offroad

Sorry I should have been clearer, Its the BMW offroad skills course.I was thinking the 1200gs might be too heavy to pick up?
