This trip has taken 9 months of planning, from deciding which route to take, organising what kit to take, which bike to use, and the biggest hurdle of all, obtaining visas for 8 countries, the visa side alone took 4 months. There are five of us travelling together.

Starting approximately 8th May 2009, we will be travelling to France, then into Holland, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and on into Russia, it will take one month of continuous hard slog to get through Russia to arrive in Ulan Bataar in Mongolia, then we go to Outer Mongolia, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azberijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, France and hopefully home to the UK.

Searing heat, thousands of miles with no proper roads or signs, and an altitude of up to 16,000 ft are just some of the obstacles that we will have to overcome.

Jarvo, one of the team members is doing the trip for charity. He lost his father to cancer 4 years ago, and recently we have had a few friends that have developed cancer. He would like to raise as much money as possible to help find a cure for this terrible illness.

Richards father was a keen motorcyclist and would be very proud of what he wants to achieve. All the lads are funding this project themselves, every penny raised will be going to either Cancer Research UK (or the other fundraising page, for Macmillan nurses). People can choose which Charity they would like to donate to.
I hope everyone will help us raise as much money as possible in this once in a lifetime trip.
