Currently a R1150GSA 2004 owner and on my 4th BMW. Love the bike and delighted to join this GS community. I would really appreciate some advice from anyone on the Cat 'Y' pipe replacement. Can the bike suffer any negative side effects as a result of this modification? I plan to keep end can as standard. Many Thanks!

Howdy Donno, no relation to bo-no ?

Fitted a y-piece and remus to my '02 r1150
Fecked around with jumper leads in place of the little yellow box, eventually removed all and it seemed best.
Lovely noise, a touch friskier, slightly less mpg.
Need to be careful taking off the cat, lambda sensor wiring should be freed up.
sensor came out easy enough, worth spraying a bit pf plusgas or similar on it.
Same thread as a sparkplug, btw.

No relation to the short one! and not to keen on the current music either.
feel more comfortable regarding the bike mod now and am told the sound is great.
