Numpty question time...

I saw someone i was out riding with use some kind of quick snap-link to repair a broken chain on his ktm 400.

Can I get such a thing for the G450X. Any good? Or should I really have some pukka spare links and a chain breaker on me such as this one?

Now when I'm out mountain biking I carry some spare links and a chain breaker....

Have probably answered my own question, but want to test the opinions in this gaff.

By all means carry as spare split link for emergency use. But be aware that they are NOT universally interchangable.

Whilst chain pitch, length and roller diameter are all standardised for any particular chain size (eg 520), pin diameter and length most certainly isn't.

Unless you have a spare split link which specifically matches the chain you are repairing, any other split link used should be considered as an emergency fix only.
