Guys,
There are already some posts with useful tips when replacing the fork brace, but what's the best sequence for dismantling ?
Should I withdraw each fork leg while the brace is on the bike, or remove brace & legs together ?
Any tips on how to hold the brace while tightening the ball joint 46mm hex ?

(re-finished fork brace waiting to fit due to corrosion of old one)

Thanks
John

I have a balljoint to fit to mine, but not done it yet, it seems they put the brace bit in a vice with wooden jaws, I believe the dealers have a jig, and have at it with a big rattle gun, after heating to loosen the loctite of course. but this is only stuff from the internet and I have not done it yet.

Recently changed my ball joint because of this.

I did not have a heat gun at that moment, nor the big key to undo the large screw.

I put 2 large screws in the brace, diagonaly oposed and used a 1m long torque arm; I did not break the threads, even if not using any heat.
