Yep Fell in love with Cambodia and the XR 250 that took me everywehere ,through Jungle, rivers ,up high ascents and Blatting along Graded roads .Got a good one too a 2004 3000miler ,so where is there to go in the sussex area? The bike is simple to look after and I know capable, anyone else got one?

Join the TRF.
It is without doubt the easiest, and safest (legally) bet for someone to get on the trails.
You are then also riding with experienced trail riders that can advise and help should you need any assistance.
There are also groups all over England and Wales, so you can go take a ride with them if you fancy a look at other area's trails.

Nice looking bike!

Standard XR rather than a Baja? So no electric start right?

Is it unfettled? It's well worth having a look on Thumper Talk once you've had a play with it, there are some very basic and cheap mods you can do that totally change the bikes performance from the factor shipped model.

well worth £15 and a couple of hours tinkering.

Will do yes thanks. Its a kick start only , you cant get the Baja over here. I have a Mate in Cambodia who can get me the twin lights but they are not cheap even out there:eek: I'm looking at it as a starter into a bit of off road ,but know its a bullitproof bike .and know it will carry my six foot frame alright and go anywhere .Its having a bit of work done but I'll let you know how it goes. I really want an enfield trials as I ride a Bullit in India/Himalayas ,anyone ride one over here?

havent got a clue what happened to the lights on mine, all the writing is there for twin lights (mind you, my wr450 seems to have wiring for twin lights too) but its just had that aftermarket single since I bought it. would be interested to hear how you get on with the twins or even if they are legal over here???

There is a kit for retrofitting the electric start from an XR400 engine Quad to the XR400 bike but to be fair why bother?

lol... having watched a mate of mine with his 400 I think I can give a good answer to that ;)

trouble is I don't think its probably worth the cost most of the time, shame though at the 400 seem like a stonking bike too, I just spent too much time "resting" to not have something with electric start :D

Was that a Camboenduro trip that you went on (part of Global enduro)
If it was how did you rate it, was it worth the money etc or did you just fly over, rent a bike and do your own thing?
Just interested in feed back as I was looking into a trip to Cambodia for later on in the year.

its a very well run trip with loads of back up ,mechanically and medically(me!!) There are local guides and we get the best bikes Baja 250's which were pretty reliable .Yes its Globalenduro check the website. Its £3495 but for that you get a total trip no faffing about www.camboenduro.com

I was on the camboenduro website last weekend, thought that it looks great,(and they played "the Doors" for the video:thumb2) was there many extra bits to pay for during the 2 weeks? what do you reckon the total cost is door to door?

£3495 plus spending money $150 fuel and you pay any breakages that are your fault:augie i smashed mine a bit and it cist me $200 .Food is included breakfast and Dinner and we got a kitty together for lunch. Its very cheap out there Go For it!!

Yes, but mine isn't as clean as yours. I bought it about 3yrs ago (from this site) and have used it for off-roading including twice for the Red Kite Rally. A very capable bike. :thumb2
