A weeks riding, taking in some of the best bits of France.
If anyone is interested in joining me, here are a few details...
Cross over via Eurotunnel, Friday evening 16th July, staying the night around Tournai.
Sat: Gerardmer: Vosges mountains.
Sun: Annecy: Vosges and Jura mountains.
Mon: Jausiers: French Alps
Tue: Buis les Baronnies: Col de la Bonette (highest road in Europe?), Verdon Gorge.
Wed: Day off, Market day in Buis, chill out
, eat and drink 
... whatever!
Thu: Treignac: Puy Mary, a really great restaurant in the evening.
Fri: Stay within reach of Caen or Le Havre, ready for a suitable ferry to Portsmouth on Sat morning.
Total miles, Calais-Caen is approx 1762, which averages out at about 280 miles per riding day.
I usually stay in cheapish hotels/pensions etc. As long as you can get decent food/drink and a night's sleep... I'm happy
Obviously, if you share a twin room, it's cheaper than a single.
The odd bit of off-road is OK with me, but I'm riding a 1200GSA, so no boggy bits please
