As Oxford are doing a cracking deal on thiers (1/2 price :D ) so I was wondering if they`d fit. (it`ll just be sitting there for 3 months until my bike comes :( )

Not sure about Oxford, but Touratech do a couple, and BMW's own tankbag is available, but that one is rather LARGE.

Hein Gerickes Tuareg tank bag fits. I have one on mine complete with side bags.

cheers! :D I`m not looking at spending £100 on a tankbag as I already have a good Oxford tailpack & numerous rucksacs but if the Oxford tankbag fitted I would happily spend £50 on it :D :D

Just downloaded the Wunderlich thread as looking to get a tankbag for my 1200 when she's delivered in Sep. Had Baglux for years but fancy a change so can admire the paintwork. Toss up between Touratech and Wunderlich at the moment I've seen the reports on the Touratech offering which seem to be glowing, anyone used/seen the Wunderlich version.

While at it, does the Touratech bag need a seperate rain cover?

Don`t do it !!

Personnally i`d always go for one of the specialist tank bags, either Touratech,Wunderlich or the oe BMW one.I had an Oxford wankbag on a recent tour to Germany and the connecting zip went due to the poor design having too much weight on it when trying to attach it to the bike.I then had to bungee it up and ride to the nearest BMW dealer to buy the proper one which has been perfect ever since.

RKA Luggage in the States make a number of GS-specific bags that fit the curve of the tank nicely... I've got one I've had for half a dozen years and my wife has one that's probably fifteen years old on one of her bikes.

Simple design - not fussy, not expensive, sensible

i have the smaller 'day' type, its shaped over the tank bulge inside and only holds a few bits and pieces, its quite a bit cheaper than the bigger one and for good reason

its handy for odds and ends but that's all

The RKA I use is likewise very small... I dont like big tank bags flopping around on day rides... half its value is the detachable map window

BMW R1100S tank bag fits the 1200GS and GSA. Small but big enough for your everyday needs. Easier to undo when you fill up the tank.
