BMW Navigator IV wiring help

I am about to install a Navigator 4 (same thing) and there are 2 plugs on the end of the cable that comes off the smart mount. I thought there was only 1 connection. Does anybody know why there are 2 and what they do and where they connect? Is 1 redundant?

Yes, the one that's uncapped is redundant on a GS. I believe that it connects into the sound system on the R1200RT.
