Wheel sensor

I have bought a Voyager for my G450X, but having trouble with the wheel sensor that in the manual suggests mounting between the Caliper and the caliper mounting on the folk. The problem I am having is I feel as though it has caused the caliper out of line and worried there isn't enough compensation to stop either the disk or the pad wearing quickly and unevenly.
Anyone else done this and or found the same?
Nick
