The St Dunstan Dog :thumb2

St Dunstans is a charity supporting blind service men and women. I was invited last week by a mate to celebrate £10K they had raised on a walk. In attendance was the following man pictured with Prince William. Simon Brown is a local lad and lost 90% of his sight after being shot in the head in 2006 when saving the lives of six comrades in Basra. He was rehabilitated by St Dunstans.

To raise the profile Simon was involved with the idea to make a limited number of Dunstan the Dog's with the idea to have them photo'd around the world to raise the profile of the charity.

Here's a few examples.

I've got possession of this fella on the basis he'll see some of Europe on the bike.

There's always one isn't there :D

Do you still have the little fella ?

Sorry - just seen your post :blush

Yes I still have him. He's lined up to carry the Olympic torch as it comes to our town :clap

If he's good he may be coming on this year's trip (cheaper than kennels) :augie

He would also welcome the opportunity to go on other trips :thumb

I sent a cheque off to St Dunstans a few years ago. Unlike other charities, they have never chased me for more contributions. Time to send another one methinks. Thanks for posting this. :thumb2
