Wales (and the Ponderosa Cafe) is always good for the breakfast run, even when it's looking a bit misty out (7.00am).

8.00 heading out of Warrington on the A49, next stop Ponderosa.

The route ;

Warrington - Wrexham (A49/A534)
Wrexham - Ponderosa, (via World's End)
Ponderosa - Bala, (via B4401 - thanks Rocks)
Bala - Ruthin (A4212/B4501/A5/B5105 - again, thanks Rocks)
Ruthin - Wrexham (A525 - inc. Nant Y Garth Pass)
Wrexham - Warrington

170 ish miles and back in time for dinner (12.55)

GIT, some of us had to go to work this morning....... BAST!!!! More fun missed.... The Clown :0)

Next time

Paul ,

Next time take the B4403 south from Bala along the east side of the lake and then take the unclassified single track road SE over the hills to Lake Vyrnwy ( great views down a lovely glacial valley en route ) . Follow the B4393 alongside the lake ( quite good to hustle down ) over the dam and then follow the B4396 and then B4580 to Oswestry and then home via Wrexham.

Even on the busiest sunny Sunday these roads are empty and great fun on the GS.

Ian

PS Where is the ford in the picture?

GS Friendly

Thanks Ian,

I'm always trying to find new routes to plod along . Will have to take the GPS so I don't get to lost!

Anybody else got any favourite GS friendly roads in/around North Wales / Cheshire?

Cheers

Paul Blythe
