Thinking of joining the Desert Raid in June, anyone else keen? looking at either hiring a bike or shipping my own...
The Desert Raid is organised by the BMW Motorcycle Club of WA Inc. The Desert Raid is held on the Saturday of the Western Australia Foundation Day long weekend every odd year at a desert location in Western Australia selected by the BMWMCCWA. The only parameter for selection of a suitable location is that potable water and fuel are available at a place not further than 250km from the Desert Raid location. There is no requirement to have alcohol, food, ablutions, accommodation, repair or recovery facilities, first aid or any other product or service available at or in the vicinity of the Desert Raid location. Attendees choose their own route and itinerary to and from the Desert Raid. Attendees are responsible for ensuring that they are properly equipped and prepared for motorcycle travel in remote areas.
