Tehe, mine is being collected from the Midlands on Thursday by my wife. She will be bringing it to me (in Southern Grmany) on Saturday. I will have a shinny new bike and it will be run-in when it arrives :thumb2

Merv

Saw one in the flesh at Jim Aims the other day. Lovely looking bike. :thumb2

Trade in that old yanky tractor :ymca and experience what a proper 'ready to race' V twin has to offer.

You know it makes sense!

Mine was supposed to arrive yesterday...... no delivery from Spain yet.

Highlands the morrow with the family for a week, so looks like I dont get her till Mayday!

And yip, it does look that good in the flesh! :D

Nice, but still got that 990 FI and nowhere near as nice as the 950 motor like what's in my SE

I'm no expert...... But have ridden a couple of earlier 990's....... Yip, engine and fuel injection felt either on or off.

What sold me on this bad boy was the fact that the power delivery is instant, but very useable ..... It's definitely better and a lot smoother than the early models.

They're very nice .... |I sore one yesterday at Premier Bike Didcot. They have one in stock as yet unsold. I didn't realise there was only 40 for the UK?

Very tempted right up to the point they told me what they'd allow me against my recently aquired RT :blast

In all honesty it's only a bit of paint. It'd be better if it was spec'd up etc etc.

It has the engine from the R model.... 115bhp instead of 106, suede style seat and engine bars, all for the price of a set of engine bars. Oh, and a paint job.

We had this bike on our stand at the Classic Bike Show this weekend....

Its a KTM 640 Enduro which has been 'Dakarised' by Derek Edmondson, previous Dakar rider....he is producing these from his place in Cannock....has 3 fuel tanks and other special features.

Morticia:beerjug:

Same engine is used on the 990 and 990 R - just the 'R' map gives a few more bhp at high revs.

I had wanted the Dakar version when getting my Adventure back at the end of January but given the long wait I decided to go with orange. Glad I did to be honest - I saw a Dakar at the dealership a couple of weeks ago and really didn't like the graphics. Too many different fonts sizes and styles, looked a bit messy I thought.

I was in Premier Bike Didcot again this morning and whilst I was there another crated Dakar arrived

That's two they've sold and now a third one about to be PDI'd ready for sale

I'm tempted but they offered me bugger all for my RT in exchange :blast

What happened to the SMR? you didn't keep it that long then?
your (my) 525 is still running well, nowhere near as shiny as when i picked it up though - all these H&H & Rallys are taking their toll. Just done the rear wheel bearings last night.

So what is the going rate for one of these dakar adv? Not that I am interested, well I am a bit, well quite a lot really.
