E6_003_s.jpg

Local family in isolated Yasab village invited us for the food - a typical Muslim tradition - a traveller is a gift of Allah for them.

The old Muslim man who invited us.

MV_04_002_2.jpg

10 storey skyscrapers "Built on Faith", as they say in Shibam. Meaning build from mud! It's hard to believe they stand for centuries!

MV_04_003_2.jpg

Shibam, Manhattan of the Desert seen from the distance. Unbelievable how they could build a city like this deep in desert.

MV_04_004_2.jpg

Yemeni man in traditional clothing - Jambiya (the dagger) is part of it. But threathening anybody with jambiya or using it means jail in Yemen by law, so it's only part of the traditional clothing.

Our Yemeni captain at the helm - what a nice guy he was, he ever brought food to us personally.

MV_05_002_2.jpg

Crossing the Red Sea with the dhow, from Yemen to Djibouti. Africa, here we come!

MV_05_004_2.jpg

Our place was just 2 meters from those sleeping Muslims. 2 days like that!

Stunning as always Margus :thumb2
