all advice greatly received.
ps were 2 up on the mandarin 1150,no campin, just hotels/b and b's etc.

If ye make it down as far as Kenmare in Kerry I'd recommend here: http://www.brooklanehotel.com/

Stayed here twice, staff were very nice, food was good and your within walking distance of the centre of town but still far enough away for it to be quiet. Kenmare is really a beautiful place and leads you down to the Beara Peninsula, which is arguably nicer than the ring of Kerry and doesn't have coaches or nearly as many tourists in punto's who usually drive on the wrong side of the road. Enjoy :aidan

The roads your looking for for Beara are the R571 out of Kenmare (signposted Glengariff coming out of town) and turn right once you've crossed the bridge. And the R572 to get you back in from the end of the peninsula (also signposted Glengariff)

well done lads

anymore good places tee go?
edit..causeway hotel booked.job done.£120 for bed ,evening meal and brekky for two.

What Sanghelli said and also take a run out along Sheep Head if you have a chance. A bit bumpy in places (but you have the superior 1150 ;) ) cracking scenery and a nice wee cafe out at the very end of the head. :thumb2

You will enjoy the Causeway Hotel, especially the grub and maybe even a dander down to the Giants Causeway in the morning. As there is construction work going on at the Causeway (building a new visitor centre) and parking is at a premium just be sure to tell the car park attendants that you are a guest at the hotel and you won't have any bother.

If you stay near the coast from Derry right round to west Cork you can't go far wrong and if you have any diffs at all just give us a shout here as we have guys here from all over the island.

Hope you get the weather. :thumb2

Thanks aidan, top man

The Riders Rally is on the weekend of Friday 29 July to Monday 1 August. The rally is a point to point mystery tour which is in it's 37th year. It is only at each "checkpoint" that you are told where the next one will be. It really is a cracking event and is highly recommended. :thumb2
